If your wool hat gets wet, allow it to dry naturally, do not blow dry it. Although wool repels water naturally, we do not recommend allowing the hat to get soaked. If a hat gets soaked it will warp and change shapes. If this happen, follow these instructions: Start by
steaming the hat in sections - try
steaming the hat slowly and tackle the hats in 4 sections. Start with the back right corner, then move to the back left corner, move your way to the front of the hat until you
steam it all thoroughly. You can slowly mend the hat back into shape with your hands as you
steam it.
Steaming the hat will make it soft and malleable, but be careful not to burn yourself with the
steam - gloves are a good way to protect yourself from a
steam burn. To steam the hat, you can use a handheld steamer, a teapot or steam it over pot of boiling water.
Blot the stain with a slightly damp white cloth until all the moisture is absorbed. Use a white cloth so no dye transfers to the hat. Spray the stain with a natural upholstery cleaner. We recommend
Folex Carpet Spot Remover. For more severe stains, we suggest taking your hat to a local hat repair shop.
