PROCESS
From the raw wool they buy from local shepherds to the nogal fruit they pick from a tree in their backyard to use as the base for their dyes, Maria and Alberto are proud to make use of their natural landscape to bring their weavings to life.
WOOL
Maria is a master at handling wool. She starts the process by cleaning the wool thoroughly by washing and brushing the wool.
Maria and Alberto make use of fruits, plants, vegetables, and insects to create natural dyes for raw wool.
Once the wool is dyed and dry, it is ready to meet the loom.
IMPACT
Thanks to our partnership Maria and Alberto now have a steady income. They used to rely solely on income from sales at a local market. Thanks to your support, I've been able to send a steady flow of orders to them which in turn has given them more financial freedom.
